Spring Plans!

We’re barely into fall, but we’re already making plans for spring!  The class schedule for Spring 2015 went live a few weeks ago – have you had a chance to look through it to see what classes we’re offering?

If you’d like a little more information on the schedule, we’re going to do a deep dive over the next few days.

First up – Getting To Know Sociology & Social Work.

Have you taken any Sociology or Social Work classes?  Are you interested in either subject, but not absolutely certain where to start?  Well, we offer introductory classes for both subjects:

SOC 101: Introduction to Sociology is a great place to start.  Our 101 classes have recently been certified as FYLI courses.  For the spring, we’re offering 2 sections of the class in traditional format (in person only), 3 blended sections (M/W in person + Online), and 1 online section.  Hopefully, between all of the sections, you’ll be able to find something that fits in your schedule!

If you’ve already taken SOC 101 and want to delve a little deeper, we’re offering two sections of SOC 201: Development of Sociological Thought.  This is a great class to take if you want to become more familiar with some of the best known theorists in Sociology.

SOC 210: Social Problems is one of our most popular classes – we’re offering 2 in person and 1 online sections of this class.

For Social Work, SW 220, People to People, is a great place to start.  It’s also a requirement if you want to apply to the BSW program.  We’re offering 3 sections of it in the spring.
