Pope Francis has convened an Extraordinary Synod – a two-week meeting of 191 Roman Catholic Bishops, Cardinals and other officials from around the world – to discuss church doctrine on divorce, remarriage, pre-marital sex, contraception, same-sex marriage and other social issues.
