The Social Work Program

The Social Work major will provide you with the professional knowledge, values, and skills needed to help people experiencing overwhelming life challenges such as substance abuse, domestic violence, child abuse, homelessness, and death, as well as mental, behavioral, and physical illness or disability. Social workers approach their work with people from the strengths perspective, while also looking at the individual within their environment.  Social workers also advocate for social change and become involved in the political process.  Our accredited BSW degree enables you to become a licensed generalist social worker in many states.

For students interested in learning more about the Bachelor of Social Work (BSW) degree, there will be an orientation and information session held:

Thursday, September 19, 2013
4:00-5:00 PM
SBS West Room 106

For students interested in applying for the Social Work Program, the fall application deadline is October 1st.  To obtain an application please visit our department office on the third floor of SBS or see our program website at http://nau.edu/SBS/SSW/Degrees-Programs/Social-Work/
